“ WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE the overwhelming beauty of this paradise-like place...........” (entry in our guest book) COMFY, RENOVATED FAMILY HOME with large pool set in gorgeous gardens in a rural yet accessible area of the most beautiful part of France - the Var area of Provence. Mas de la Picolette is a beautifully-proportioned converted mas (farmhouse) built in the 1920s. The property sleeps 10 + 2 children and a baby in 6 bedrooms and has 3 bathrooms, spacious living / dining areas and a large kitchen. In a quiet valley, 4 kms from the village of Pignans, Picolette is surrounded by hills and vineyards. But it's the garden that make the property such a special place for happy holidays with several acres of lawns - ideal for cricket and rounders! - shrubs and trees, bordered by the little river, the Réal Martin where trout and eel have been caught by guests this year, and an additional Mill Stream, giving that glorious relaxing sound of running water at all times of day or night. The large pool (15 metres long) is next to the fully fitted Summer Kitchen .... no one strays far from here we find! Mas de la Picolette is ideal for large family gatherings, two families or groups of friends. |

Mas de la Picolette is nestled in lush gardens, with many unusual trees, plants and secret spots that together create an incredible picture full of colour and life. It is tucked away in a hidden valley, surrounded by impressive hills and a pretty little shady river. For those of you who are looking to relax, recharge your batteries and share happy times with your family and friends, Picolette would be base for your perfect holiday. The property consists of 2 buildings: The Main house and The Studio plus The Summer Kitchen. The Main House has 3 bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin) and 2 bathrooms (one with a bath, one en suite to the upstairs double, with a shower). There is large living accommodation with a dining area seating 10, sitting area with three sofas, and a fabulous large kitchen. The Studio is right next door to the Main House and ideal for anyone wanting that extra bit of privacy. There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a small further bedroom where we have bunkbeds for children. The Studio is rented as part of the Main House as it doesn't have a kitchen, though it has its own fridge and kettle. The Summer Kitchen with its large shady terrace, seating for 12, BBQ etc is situated near the beautiful 15m x 6m swimming pool. The Summer Kitchen is fitted with hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher etc and enables you to spend literally all day lazing around in the shade near the pool. Bliss! We have some toys and games for children and adults (badminton, table tennis, boules, sandpit, swing - and 2 little bikes.) For those that can't resist staying in touch with home, mobile telephone reception is usually fine despite the rural environment (often tricky in France!) and we have English TV. Arrangements can be made for internet access etc. on request. |

| Location | We are situated just 4 kms from the village of Pignans, which is on the road to Toulon from the A8 motorway, and which links this area with the beaches of Hyeres, Le Lavendou, La Londe and Bormes les Mimosas. This is the central Var. It is a region of contrasts, with, to the south, a fertile plain of vineyards and olive groves and, to the north, a mountain range with pine and oak forests. We are just 30 minutes drive from the sea and less than an hour's drive from St.Tropez, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. The nearest large towns are Hyeres and Toulon, both about 25 minutes away. The nearest villages with shopping facilities are 5 mins away with a huge hypermarket about 20 minutes away. | |

| How to get here | The nearest airports are Toulon - just half an hour away - (RyanAir from London Stansted and Air France): Nice (EasyJet, BMI and BA from the UK - 1 hour 10 minutes drive) & Marseille (about an hour and a half away). We think a car is essential but, as we are on site too, can offer transport services if you don't drive, to include picking up from the airport, transport to the shops, restaurants, and sight seeing trips, within the scope of the size of our car! Alternatively you can put your car on the train from Calais to Avignon, or travel by train to, say, Aix en Provence and hire a car from there. | |
| Prices |
We require 50% of the total rental as a deposit, with the balance payable 8 weeks before the date of your holiday. We also require a security deposit, dependent on the size of your party.
