La Ferme (sleeps 9 to 10). The centre piece of La couronne, La ferme is a five bedroom traditional farmhouse house spread over three floors. The second floor consists of a double bedroom, twin bedroom and shower room with shower, basin and wc. The first floor has a double bedroom, twin bedroom and single bedroom. There is also a bathroom with bath, shower and double basin and separate wc on this floor. The ground floor consists of a large farmhouse kitchen, lounge/dining area and separate utility room. The house has two outdoor areas, a private garden area and an open terrace at the front of the house, both with patio furniture. L'Atelier (sleeps 6). Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a family room with a double and 2 children's single beds, and a separate twin bedroom. There is also a shower room with shower, basin and wc on this floor. The ground floor consists of a large lounge/dining area and a separate kitchen. The back door leads out onto a large private walled terrace with patio furniture. La Grange (sleeps 4). Upstairs there is a double bedroom with a pool view, twin bedroom and shower room with shower, basin and wc. Downstairs is a lounge/dining/kitchen area with a back door leading into a small private deck area with patio furniture. L'Etable (sleeps 2). This charming, spacious one bedroom gite has a double ensuite bedroom on the first floor and a large lounge/dining/kitchen area on the ground floor. The front door leads out on to a private terrace with patio furniture, adjacent to the swimming pool. |

The heated swimming pool (heated during May and October and maintaining an average temperature of 28 degrees throuhout the summer) is surrounded by a pretty walled garden with a large stone barbecue and terraced area for those late evening cookouts. The summer weather in the charente, an area renowned for endless hours of sunshine, will ensure that you find plenty of time to relax and soak up some rays. La Couronne is located in the heart of the small rural village of Fouqueure and is an ideal base from which to explore the Cognac region. Situated 8 km from the N10, between Poiters and Angouleme, the nearest towns are: Aigre (2 km), Mansle (8km), Rouillac (15km) Ruffec (23km) and Cognac (35km). By road - contact us for route suggestions from all channel ports. Journey time depending on port is approximately 5 to 7 hours. By rail - TGV services to Poitiers or Angouleme, connect with Eurostar services from London (via Lille or Paris) journey time is approximately 7 hours from Calais. Car hire is avaialble from Poitiers or Angouleme. By air -Ryanair operates a daily service from London Stanstead to Poitiers, Limoges La Rochelle and Angouleme . Flights are also avaiable from East Midlands, Southampton and Liverpool. British Airways also operate a service from Heathrow and other UK airports into Bordeaux. Car hire is available from all airports. Please note if you are not coming by car from the UK, car hire is essential for La Couronne to get the most out of the area. |
