"La Fermette" is a 3 beroomed 17th century converted stone farm building sleeping 8 adults. 3 kms from the town of St. Martin des Besaces, in Nomandy France. The town has a small supermarket, resturant, bakers, butchers etc, on Satudays they have a market in the square. The cottage is at the end of a pretty private driveway in tranquil countryside. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. It has a modern kitchen with a gas/electric cooker and extractor, a separate microwave oven and ample size fridge/freezer. Plenty of pots, pans and kitchen utensils for all your needs. The dining area seats 6 and directly adjoins the kitchen there are 2 high stools for the breakfast bar. The living room is of good size, it is equipped with a TV and DVD player (bring your favorite CD's and DVD's). Books and games are included for your use. It has french doors to the front and back. The door at the front is the main entrance from the courtyard and parking area. The back door opens onto a pleasant garden area which offers usual furniture sun parasol and barbeque, with well established trees offering good shade. From the living room to the master bedroom runs a short corridor with doors at both ends and a window on the right hand wall. A door in the left wall of the corridor leads into the bathroom, fitted with toilet, wash hand basin and bath with shower over. The master bedroom is spacious, comfortable and can accommodate a cot if required. All the ground floor is fully ceramic tiled. There is a staircase in the lounge leading to the 2 upstairs bedrooms which are comfortably furnished, with Velux opening windows in both rooms. The slightly smaller bedroom of the two has adult size bunk beds and one single. The other has a four poster bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe dressing table and bedside cabinet. |

Here we have listed the main towns in Calvados with places of interest, and then covering the wider area of Normandy. Bayeux :- A "must see" visit the famous Tapestry, and Cathedral. Also one of the most impressive British & Commonwealth War Memorials & Cemetries in Normandy straddles the Bayeux peripherique, there is a typical French Market on Saturday and Wednesday. Not far from Bayeux are the Normandy landing beaches: Arromanches with its Mulberry harbour, great views from the cliff tops, also a museum and circular cinema. All along this coastline it is steeped in history from the second world war with many interesting places to visit. Beautiful safe sandy beaches stretch for miles if you want to lay in the sun. Many good restaurants serving a variety of meals, seafood is excellent in this area. Caen :- with its Abbey, gardens, shops, restaurants and markets, there is always something for everyone. Nearby at Carpiquet is "Festyland", an amusement/adventure park for children. Vire :- Is a charming market town, a mixture of old and new architecture. Nearby is the Valley de la Souleuvre where there is one of the largest bungy jumps in the world for those who dare, also an aerial slide, adventure park for adults and children and a Go Kart track. Jurques :- A Zoological Park with an adventure playground and bouncy castle area. Champrepus :- Another very popular Zoo, great for the children. Mont St Michel :- A legendary site on the Brittany coast that never fails to stir the imagination with it's splendid aura. Don't forget your camera. Low season Jan-Feb-Mar-Oct-Nov-Dec £275.00 Mid season April-May-June-Sept £325.00 High season July-August £425.00 Christmas and New Year £350.00 Weeks start from Saturday to Saturday arrival after 4pm and leaving by 10am unless by prior arrangement. Well behaved pets are allowed, but please ask first. All linen and duvets are included in the price as well as 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel, please bring your own towels for the beach. 25% of the cost of your holiday is payable with reservation, balance payable 6 weeks before start date. A security deposit of £100.00 is payable as well at this time. It is advisable to arrange insurance against cancellation of your holiday. |
