| Summary | Villa Laffon is a detached four bedroom villa on the edge of a traditional french village, within minutes of Carcassonne. The villa which is used exclusively by you, is on one level throughout and has a private terrace/garden area within which is a large swimming pool,securely fenced to the french law standards. The centre of the village of Villemoustaussou is within walking distance of the villa. Carcassonne airport is less than 10 minutes drive away. The villa was newly furnished for the 2006 season and is fully equiped throughout. Uninterrupted views over the Montagne Noire and towards the Pyrenees make the location very quiet and peaceful, but it is within easy reach of many attractions and the mediterranean coast. | |

The lounge and dining Room are furnished to a high standard, British Satellite TV, DVD and CD players with a range of CDs, DVD films, books and board games. The fully equiped kitchen is separate from the dining area and includes a dishwasher, fridge freezer, separate drinks fridge, electric/gas hob, electric oven, microwave and all the small appliances you would expect. Leading from the lounge through 2 sets of french windows is the large outside terrace, which is furnished with table, chairs and sun loungers. This will be your dining area for the majority of the spring,summer and autumn months. The 8.5m by 4.5m swimming pool (fenced to current French Law standards) is next to the terrace and surrounded by the garden area. The terrace and pool area are totally private and secure allowing you to concentrate on building a deep suntan. There is a built in B B Q on the terrace. The 4 bedrooms are all double size, with 2 rooms having twin beds, the largest room has a double and a single bed and the master suite has a double bed and an en-suite shower/toilet. There is a separate bathroom with a large corner bath, over bath shower, toilet and twin sinks. An additional seperate toilet/sink. There is a utility room with washing m/c, tumble dryer and ironing facilities which leads to the garage, this houses 4 adults and 3 childrens bikes for use during your stay (No extra charge). Included in the rental fee are 2 travel cots and 2 highchairs. plus a play pen, all bed linen and towels inc swimming towels. Ample parking for 4 or 5 cars within the grounds and as all the property is on one level it is suitable for guests with mobility problems. The English speaking manager is a short drive away from Villa Laffon and will be available to assist during your stay should you have any problems, and also visit to tend to the pool and ground maintenance at a time to suit you. A welcome pack will greet you on your arrival,comprising of wine,orange juice, Tea, coffee, milk and crisps. Change over day is usually Saturday or Sunday but alternatives can be arranged if possible to suit your flights. |

Villemoustaussou is a short walking distance from Villa Laffon (2 mins by car), there are 2 bakers, 2 bars, a restaurant and a small supermarket. The village holds fetes on weekends throughout the summer months. Carcassonne is a 10 minute drive and is full of restaurants, bars, small shops and historical attractions, a city not to be missed. The Cathar Castle sites are within easy reach. Nearby activities include Golf at the course in Carcassonne and 3 other sites within an hours drive, cycling,tennis,walking, fishing, canoeing, wine tasting and horse riding. The canal du Midi runs through Carcassonne and passes with a few minutes drive of the villa, you can spend an afternoon walking by the canal or take organised boat trips. Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignon and Foix are within easy reach, the beaches at Narbonne Plage are less than an hours drive away and provide miles of unspoilt beauty. Visits to the smaller towns of Mirepoix, Limoux and Castelnaudry are to be recommended. A days skiing during the ski season is a possiblity in the nearby Pyrenees resorts. |

Fly with Ryanair from Liverpool, East Midlands, Dublin, Belgium and Stanstead from as little as a few pounds + taxes.Check the Ryanair website regularly as special offers appear frequently. The aiport at Carcassonne is less than 10 minutes from Villa Laffon, hire cars are available at the airport or take a taxi to Villemoustaussou.(15 Euro) Assistance and advice on booking flights and Car hire is available if needed. Driving from the channel ports can take around 10 hours, or you can utilise the train service to Toulouse or Narbonne,which can take you and your car on the motorail. |
