Set in 5 acres, reached by a winding farm track through woods, surrounded by farm land, La "GRANGE FROUMIGUE", an 18th century farm, has spectacular views of the St. Germain Plateau and over the peaceful valley below. The first structure you encounter is the 18th century barn, which has been lovingly restored, retaining the character of the old building- oak beams, rough-hewn stone walls, the original barn doors - yet offering all the comforts of modern living - traditional French style. In addition, the kitchen is fully-equipped; dishwasher, washing machine, fridge- freezer, full-sized electric cooker and microwave are at your disposal. Moreover, "La GRANGE FROUMIGUE" has a modern, newly renovated bathroom with large shower. For convenience sake, the toilets are separated. Furthermore badminton equipment and table tennis is offered and garden furniture as well as a barbecue to cook in a traditional French Mediterranean way is provided. "FROUMIGUE" is situated in the hills 6 kms from Villeneuve/Lot, a 13th century "bastide" (fortified town), lying in the heart of Lot-et-Garonne in the South West of France. Lot-et-Garonne, which is just south of the Dordogne, is still a well-guarded secret. Yet it has much of the best France has to offer - a warm climate, peaceful pastoral scenery, historic towns and villages, markets, castles and vineyards, many excellent local wines and cheeses, as well as gastronomic specialities such as "foie gras" and "confit de canard". It will entice you to discover it's architecture, gastronomy, quaint open farmers' market and most of all "art de vivre". WHAT ARE THE LOCAL ACTIVITIES? An 18-hole golf course at Castlenaud, riding at the "Chateau de Roge", tennis at Villeneuve tennis-club, water sports on the River Lot are all within 5-15 mins. drive of the gite. You can cycle and hike directly from "Froumigue". WHAT ARE THE EXCURSIONS? The medieval fortified villages of Pujols, Penne d'Agenais, Montflanquin and Villereal are within 15 mins drive. The Dordogne valley and the vineyards of Bordeaux are only 1 1/2 hrs., and the sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are only 2 hrs drive from the gite. The restaurant "La Maison sur La Place" (in Penne d'Agenais) international cuisine is a place with a true difference. The Restaurant, "La Toque Blanche", (restaurant gastronomique)is also only 10 mins. away and there are many reasonably-priced restaurants in the area, serving local specialities. HOW TO GET THERE? "FROUMIGUE" is easily reached by air, road or rail. It is 25 km off the "A 62 Autoroute", half way between Bordeaux and Toulouse. Both are served by regular, scheduled flights from London and other major European cities. Low Cost Airlines fly from London/Stanstead into Bergerac/Dordogne, only 40 min by car from "Froumigue". It takes only 4 hours from Paris to Agen (25 kms from the property) by high-speed TGV train. |

Bookings are Saturday to Saturday only during High & Mid Seasons. Low season by arrangement. The prices quoted are per week, according to the agreed number of tenants in the contract. A security deposit per week booked will be charged. This will be refunded on departure after inspection of the property, unless damage has happened. Tenants are asked to leave the premises as they found it. HOW TO BOOK: Please contact us to make a provisional booking. We will send you a Booking Form which should be returned with your deposit (30% of entire rent). Confirmation will be sent promptly stating when final payment is due, as well as directions on how to find the property.
