*** Our comfortable, charming, very French 'MAISON DE MAITRE'..... may be rented 'en totalité', for 8/11 persons OR you have the choice of THREE SELF CATERING HOLIDAY APARTMENTS/ GITES (from 2 to 8/11 persons) We are a FRENCH/AUSTRALIAN couple, BRUNO and JUDY GERMANAZ, and we welcome you to our very French authentic CAMARGUE Mas. Situated within the vineyards, olive and fruit trees, 500 metres from the tiny unspoiled ‘viticole’ village of GALLICIAN, very conveniently at the heart of the PETITE CAMARGUE, in the triangle NIMES, ARLES and AIGUES-MORTES, only 30 minutes from the long sandy beaches of the MEDITERRANEAN SEA. MAS BEATA, in the past, used to be a wine grower’s house, now fully restored and converted with a private, protected, enclosed swimming pool, has a peaceful and planted walled courtyard of 3000 sq.metres with intimate areas for either dining, reading, writing or just being lazy….the gazebo is perfect for your early evening aperitif as you prepare your BBQ dinner. Through the fresh, shady colourful ‘summer room’ is located the sparkling pool with all the necessary for sunbathing and relaxing. Parking is available. The ‘Maison de Maitre’ has been divided into 3 charming and comfortable self catering apartments (Gites), OR alternatively can be rented as one house for a large family/friends. (8/11 persons) Both Bruno and I have had long successful careers in the Hospitality business, live on site in our own home which is attached to the ‘Maison de Maitre’, and are on hand to welcome and advise you on the many tourist attractions and activities, as well as assure the tranquillity of your holiday. |

****the ‘MAISON DE MAITRE' en totalité for 8/11 persons…..ideal for family/friends with the choice of independence OR... *** GITE ‘SYRAH’ (1st floor)… 4/5 persons, 6, (if children)….4 rooms, shower room and separate toilet. *** GITE ‘CINSAULT’ (garden level)…2 persons, or, with one child…2 ½ rooms, shower room and toilet. *** STUDIO/GITE ‘FLEUR DE SEL’ (garden level)... 2 persons….Fully equipped Studio. ................................. **** GITE ‘SYRAH’ 1st Floor (110 sq.metres) A wide staircase leads to the first floor where you will discover your very spacious holiday apartment with original tiled floors throughout. The large, very bright and sunny main family room (facing south) is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, dining and living area which has a television, radio/CD player, DVD player if you require. With open stonework and beams, this room has a very big window, as well as French windows leading onto a wrought-iron balcony, from where you have panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and vineyards, the lagoons of the Charnier and Scamandre in the distance, local Camargue horses and not forgetting…...............the wonderful brilliant never-ending CAMARGUE skies! The luminous main bedroom, with a large south facing window, has a Queen size (160x200) double bed. The second and third bedrooms, also nice & bright, both have north facing windows and open views …One has a double bed (140x190), and the other has bunk beds. The large ‘blue’ tiled shower room is very clear, practical and equipped with a double wash basin and shower cubicle. The separate toilet has a washbasin. **** GITE ‘CINSAULT’..... Garden level (42 sq.metres) The very pleasant spacious main room is open plan (living/dining/ kitchen area) with a high beamed ceiling, open stonework, tiled floors, fireplace (very much appreciated in the cooler evenings), T.V.,and a very large south facing window opening onto the shady patio, equipped with outside furniture, ideal for your breakfasts, morning tea, or……… From the restful north facing adult’s bedroom (double bed 140x190), 5 stone steps lead you up to the 'blue & white' well equipped shower room, with washbasin and toilet, then, through to a cheerful child’s bedroom with single bed.(90 x 190) **** STUDIO/GITE ‘FLEUR DE SEL’...... Garden level (22 m2) A surprisingly voluminous room, as it has a high beamed ceiling with a very large south facing window, opening onto the shady vine covered patio equipped for outdoor living. This very pretty Studio/Gîte has a double bed (140x190), kitchenette,microwave oven etc. T.V. if required,shower, washbasin and toilet. ************************* We have lovingly re-decorated and furnished the 3 apartments in a personalized, homely relaxed French country style. Bed linen and bath towels are certainly included, as well as plenty of tea towels etc., and will be provided once a week for longer rentals. However, please do remember to bring your own beach/pool towels. We regret that smoking is not permitted INSIDE the gites and that we cannot accept pets. |

******TO DISCOVER****** The natural beauty of the immense sauvage CAMARGUE region..a landscape of exceptional flora and fauna, lagoons, marshes, roselières, canals and dunes with the famous wild Camargue horses, the majestic flights of flamingos, the variety of migrating birds, the festive spirit of local traditions…..taureaux, férias, corridas, courses camarguaises, manades, gardians…. **** The vineyards.....Costières de Nimes AOC,(our neighbour, the MAS NEUF has recently been recognised by the famous Americain PARKER Wine guide) and Vins des Sables towards Aigues Mortes.. The ‘Cave Pilote de GALLICIAN’ is especially recognised for the qualities of their welcome and wine tasting cellar. Also do try ....the delicately parfumed Fleur de Sel de Camargue, Saucisson de Taureau, Camargue Rice, and when in season...Asparagus and local fruit etc.... **** 20 mins.…….The Cité Médiévale of AIGUES MORTES (11th century),remparts, chapelles, river port, restaurants, boutiques, animations and expositions, ‘Le Domaine de Listel‘, the ‘Salins du Midi’, ‘la Tour Carbonnière’, a classed historical monument. **** 25 mins/30 mins.………The ports of LE-GRAU-DU-ROI, very active fishing port with colourful restaurants along the canal leading towards the sea, LA GRANDE MOTTE, well know for it’s 196O’s style of architecture, lively important pleasure port, and fabulous long sandy beaches,boutiques,restaurants and bars....PORT CAMARGUE one of the largest pleasure sailing ports in Europe, with the famous fine sandy beach, ‘l’ Espiguette’. **** 30 mins…….. The famous Roman Amphithéatres of NIMES and ARLES…..Van Gogh, Christian Lacroix, Férias, Festivals, Historic and Cultural Museums, Restaurants, Antique and lively markets…. **** 35 mins……..Not forgetting SAINTES-MARIES-DE-LA-MER , the patrimonial city of the Gitanes, the Parc Ornithologique, natural reserve…60 hectacres for bird lovers ! **** Within one hour’s drive, you may wish to visit UZES (the provençal ambiance of the Place des Herbes and markets), le 'famous' PONT DE GARD, AVIGNON( le Palais des Papes, and MONTPELLIER ( ‘baroques’ buildings, elegants parcs, cultural manifestations, and IKEA) & of course, the well known villages of...ST.REMY-DE-PROVENCE and Les BAUX-de-PROVENCE. **** Very locally……….you must visit LE CAILAR, (10 mins) a typical Camargue village with strong taurine traditions, VERGEZE (15 mins) source of the famous PERRIER, ‘LE CENTRE DE DECOUVERTE DU SCAMANDRE’ ( 5 mins) is a wonderful natural reserve with walking tracks through the local paysage. **** In our tiny village, of GALLICIAN (walking distance 500 metres) there is a boulangerie for your morning croissants and baguette, 2 'local colour' bars(one serving very simple fresh food). Gallician is also a ‘halte nautique’ along the canal ‘Rhone to Sete’. In VAUVERT at 6 kilometres, there are two very well stocked large supermarkets, including restaurants etc. and twice weekly markets. Our popular closest restaurant is the family run 'l'Ancien Monastère' at only 5 kilometres in the tiny village of Franquevaux. There are also two big supermarkets on the way back from Aigues Mortes if you are out that way for a day's outing or at the beach..... *********** If you are feeling sportive, we have a few VTT BICYCLES at your disposal. Discover the Camargue also on HORSEBACK.... Another way to visit the Petite Camargue is by ‘CALECHE’ ( open horse-drawn carriage). BIRDWATCHING is a definite MUST! CANOEING on the Petit Rhone is very popular (15 mins) OR under the spectacular roman PONT DE GARD from Collias (45 mins) GOLF…La Grande Motte and Nimes within 30 mins. The kilometres of magnificent sandy BEACHES of the MEDITERRANEAN (30 mins) ….…wind surfing, kite surfing, sailing, etc. ****** ALL UNDER THE FASCINATING BLUE CAMARGUE SKIES! ****** |
