"La Cerise Cottage" was in her previous life a working farm set in the pretty hamlet of "La Rafoulais" The farmhouse was built circa 1740, but after conversion she is a large spacious 2, bedroom cottage sleeping 6, persons + cot. The large exposed oak beamed bedrooms offers views of the surrounding rolling countryside, it has a full sized bathroom + toilet a open-plan exposed oak beamed kitchen/salon areas that's fully equipped, the salon has a large inglenook fireplace with a cosy log burning fire, english TV, DVD player, Hi-fi and a very large selection of films and books to choose from. There are large patio doors overlooking the beautiful Breton rolling fields and passing cows amble by for milking twice a day. "La Cerise" offers secure off road parking plus private gardens with garden furniture and picnic table as standard so you can relax de-stress and watch the world go by. If travelling to another destination in France why not have a short break with us and sample the delights of both Brittany & Normandy (2 nights minimum outside of peak season) There's a large heated plunge pool available within in our grounds. (May to September). Inside your cottage you will find 100 bottles of various wines for sale and you only pay for what you consume!!!. Duvets and pillows are provided as standard, while quality fresh linen sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers (as required) can be hired at an additional charge, (see terms & conditions) please note that towels are not provided. In your gite you will find local information and forthcoming events, also a large welcome pack is provided for your arrival so no panic about the shops closing before your arrival. Mountain bike hire is available for our superb quite local lanes. There are tennis and boule courts in our local floral village of Cogles. We feel that "Pickle Cottage" offers a reason just to relax. |

"La Rafoulais" is a tiny quite farming hamlet on the Brittany / Normandy border very close to the towns of Saint James, FOUNDED by William the conquerer who had his stronghold at "caen" Just 15 minutes away is the medieval town of "Fougeres" with its superb nightlife and castle and cobbled streets and numerous restaurants. "Pontason" gateway to the bay of "LE MONT SAINT MICHEL" France's 2nd most visited attraction, an Island abbey built on a extinct volcano with just a narrow causeway separating it from France. In the bay area heading round to the seaside town of "Cancale" you will find in the harbour area many seafood restaurants, this town is famous for its oysters fresh from the bay, but wait you can't leave this area without trying the Moule frite great with a dry white wine. "SAINT MALO" well what can we say about this old pirate town now a thriving port for racing ships and a direct port to the channel islands and England this place is heaven for shopping in trendy clothes shops and shady town squares a must see!!!!! Now your hosts have been to most beaches in France but nothing prepared us for the coastline of Brittany we found secluded coves with smooth clean sand, blue seas fantastic sunshine and above all gorgeous coastal paths Where are they well if I tell you the secret will be out and all the tourists will flock there and it won't be special anymore so when you book with us the secret is yours. Nearest port is Saint Malo 45 mins away "Caen" 90 minutes away "Rosscoff" 2.5 hrs and "Le Havre" 2.5 hrs Channel tunnel around 5 hrs BY AIR nearest airport "Dinard" served by Ryanair and car hire available great for a short break and maybe a game of golf. We can be found by coming off the A84 autoroute at exit 31, just 5 minutes to the gite and close enough to all the major routes for this magical region of France.
