The house has been renovated to make the most of the naturally light rooms and the living/dining/kitchen benefits from an open plan layout. The downstairs hallway leads directly out into the garden, or alternatively, past the newly installed shower room and up the open staircase, to the spacious double and twin bedrooms. The kitchen area is equipped with gas hob and oven, with electric grill, fridge and microwave oven. Outside, the patio style garden benefits from sunshine and shade throughout the day, with summer sunshine into the evening - perfect for that after dinner glass of wine! The garden overlooks the C12 church and the village Mairie - quite an enviable spot. It is equipped with garden furniture, deckchairs and BBQ. Please note the property is no-smoking and no pets allowed - sorry. Because of the open plan nature of the house, it is not suitable for very young children. Recent guests had this to say... Being in the very centre of St. Romain, the property is only two steps from the village shop. Open daily, there is fresh rustic bread and locally produced wine readily available. St. Romain itself is in the heart of Libournais wine growing country. Many established pathways and cycle routes pass through the village and out into the vines. With vineyards in every direction, there are chateaux visits and wine tasting a-plenty! The medieval Chateau Branda is a pleasant walk away, in the very next village. St. Andre de Cubzac is just 5 minutes drive, with a good variety of shops, supermarkets and banks. If you fancy a no-car day, you'll find the station here too. Alternatively, the bastide town of Libourne is a 20 minute picturesque drive away and certainly worth a visit. The historic town of St. Emilion is just beyond Libourne and should be top of everyone's 'to see' list. The vibrant city of Bordeaux is 20km to the southwest and its' newly re-vitalised centre is now accessible by train and tram, to avoid city driving. Bordeaux can offer you fine food, fine wine, an insight into the culture and wealth of its' origins, or an excellent days shopping! The Cote d'Argent is also within easy reach, offering day trips to the fashionable resort of Arcachon, the oyster beds of Cap Ferret and the unmissable Dune de Pyla. But of course you may just wish to sit back, relax and wonder why you have never visited here before now? |

2008 prices range from 175 euros per week out of season, to 350 euros per week in high season. Usual changeover day is Saturday. Long weekends and short mid-week breaks are possible out of high season. Give us a call to enquire about your dates and prices. Prices are given in euros, all inclusive of gas/electric/water and all linen is provided (bed, bath, kitchen). A 25% deposit secures booking, with the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. Please note, a damage waiver of 150 euros is payable on arrival. |
