LA BOHEME refurbished gite all ground floor. Exposed beams throughout with two bedrooms. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas cooker and fridge. Tiled floor in living room, wood floors to bedrooms. Satellite colour t.v. with video, cassette radio, books and games. Internet wi-fi.. Double bedroom with wood panelling having French doors leading out to patio with vines, roses and herbs. Second bedroom accomodating up to three single beds. Woodburner for the cooler months. Large shower room, washbasin and w.c. Shaver point and hairdryer. Private patio with gaz barbeque, patio table and chairs with views across the valley. Enclosed gardens with apple, pears, cherries and fig trees. 7.5 metre above ground swimming pool enclosed by low level wall and gated. Large games room with table tennis, darts, pool table, small snooker table, table top football... bicycles. Boules and croquet. Adjacent utility room with washing machine and ironing board and w.c. Barbeque with wine on arrival for guests booking the gite between mid June and mid September. Cot, highchair and baby bath available on request. In the mature enclosed gardens of over one acre we can offer you a 7.5 metre swimming pool, reaching over 85 degrees in summer. Sun loungers. Selection of adult's and children's bicycles are available so you can explore our lovely village and countryside. 3 miles from Romanesque market town, 3 churches, Oldest silver mines in Europe, Botanical Walk, Friday morning market, shops, restaurants, jazz cafes...Classical music held in the romanesque churches. Niort 30 mins drive, La Rochelle 80 mins, Cognac 60 mins, Poitiers 50 mins. Futuroscope 60 mins. Saintes with its ampitheatre just 60 mins away. On the route of the Chabichou goat trail, also the pilgrimage route to Compostella. Also nearby, Marais Poitevin, Chize Zoo, Monkey World, Chateaux, Lake Lambon. Plenty of cycle rides and walks from village. Horse riding, Golf, Go Karting and Quad biking nearby. Explore tiny villages, visit romanesque churches, chateaux and taking a botanical walk around Melle where you will see hundreds of shrubs and trees from different countries. For birdwatchers...see the hoopoes, golden orieoles, buzzards, herons and sparrowhawks. We are in a micro climate so a visit out of season is a must. Three day blues event in Cognac in July. Oldest royal silver mines in Europe. Botanical walk around the town with thousands of shrubs and trees. Classical music events held annually. Jazz bar, cafes, restaurants. Market on Friday morning. Excellent horse riding stables. Chef Boutonne home of the Javersay Chateau (above) with a lovely lake. Market on Saturday morning. Restaurants and bars. Barbeque included on day of arrival June to September. All linen, towels (not pool towels) electicity, gas included in price. Please bring baby linen and blankets. Highchair and cot available on request. 35% deposit required. Sorry no smoking in gite. Unable to take animals. Bed and breakfast basis 55 euros per night per room, 21 euros per head for three course meal with wine. Available in either gite depending on availability, not July or August.
