LE CEDRE - 5 bedrooms sleeps 6-12 comfortably CENTRALLY HEATED The kitchen has all modern facilities. An island with a preparation sink and dishwasher. Built-in oven, Hob, Large refrigerator, Microwave and a second sink, with a window overlooking the patio and pools. The washing machine and dryer can be found in the utility room. There are two bathrooms on the ground floor with toilet, washbasins and shower cubicles, tiled floors and walls, tastefully decorated. Bedroom 1, found upstairs leads off the gallery, this room has exposed beams with views overlooking the front garden. There are two double beds, en-suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower unit, washbasin and toilet. Bedroom 2, is on the ground floor, in the North Wing, with double bed plus a single bed, exposed beams and a antique tiled floor. Bedroom 3, in the South Wing is situated on the mezzanine floor overlooking the games room and has 3 single beds, exposed beams. Bedroom 4 is on the ground floor. This room has French windows opening onto a terrace with views to the pools and gardens. The room has a double bed plus an extra single bed. In keeping with the renovation much of the furniture is antique and typically French with the added comfort of modern living. Bedroom 5, on the ground floor. This room has french doors opening on the rear gardens with views of the Ceder tree.It is a large open airy room having 4 single beds. The Patio and terraces are planted with colourful shrubs and plants,and there is plenty of garden furniture for eating 'al fresco' in the warm balmy evenings!! BBQ provided. The pools are exceptional, the main pool is 6x10m and attached is a 3m children's pool making a haricot shape.The main pool is 2 metres deep and the childrens pool is 55cm deep. There is terracing all around the pool The games room situated in the house has a 3/4 size Snooker table. There is table tennis in the garden. The Gardens. To the front of the house is a stone gavelled area with colourful and interesting shrubs and a variety of annual bedding,a striking, welcoming display. Another interesting feature is the old village pump. The double gates lead onto a driveway a double garage and plenty of car parking facilities. As you venture further along the drive it opens out onto a woodland garden planted with shrubs and trees. At the furthest end of the garden you will find a small lake. The Cedar Tree on the knoll overlooking the lake is several hundred years old. The rear gardens and swimming pools are enclosed within a walled courtyard providing shelter and privacy,and the pool is fenced off for security. You are invited to visit our other complex in St Martin des Fontaines and you will have full use of the facilities on offer there. These include boules, outdoor backgammon and chess, indoor heated pool, snooker and pool After a hard day enjoying yourselves, relax with some music on the Hi-fi system or catch upon the English television news, read from the collection of books or watch a DVD to pass those last minutes of a fully enjoyable day |

Places to see and where to go. The Area. From the Bacage to the Venise Verte and through the Forests of Vouvant-Mervent, the magical landscapes are diverse and appealing, showing successful interaction between man and natures exuberance. The countryside around “Le Cédre” is particularly suited to Cycling and walking with picturesque scenery, no steep hills and minimal traffic with the occasional Bar for refreshments. Fontenay-le-Comte 12km.Renaissance City. Stroll through the old town with elegant, private residences, fountains, timber framed houses, public squares, the church of Notre Dame and Chateau De Terre-Neuve, or simply let life pass you by in one of the many street cafe’s or restaurants. Fontenay also has two Hypermarkets and a variety of shops. Venise Verte (Green Venise) 20km. A fascinating place to visit. Take a trip along the canals, or hire a boat with or without a guide, stroll along the towpaths or fish the banks. Vouvant-Mervent 10km. Some 12,500 acres of forest and shady walks, quiet picnics and large lakes for boating, fishing or relaxing, with the village of Vouvant the jewel at it’s Northern end. La Rochelle 49km. A Classic Port steeped in history with a sparkling coastline. A city of superb cuisine, with many street side restaurants specialising in seafood and overlooking the fishing boats in the Harbour. Pay Du Fou 60km. 30 hectares of countryside to discover the history of the Vendee. A truly awesome display of falconry, relive a battle between France and England, experience a raid by the Vikings, Visit the Roman Games with lions and chariot racing. The Coast – Approx 40min drive to some of the best Blue Ribbon beaches in France. There are countless other attractions in the area to visit, or you can simply stay by the pool, or relax in the landscaped gardens. This makes Le Cédre an ideal centre for discovering this fascinating part of France |
