The property is approached by a private shrub/tree lined drive (see Photo 5). The downstairs of the villa consists of an open-plan lounge, eating area and american kitchen. There is a TV , Video, X-Box and a music centre, selection of books and videos. The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, and huge range of cupboards.This area leads onto a utility room with washing machine and fridge/freezer, ironing board and iron, sink and cupboards. Tumble drier available.The gardens are accessed by both front and side doors;the houses each have access to a private garden area, as well as the adjoining 1 acre field. The lounge , with wood burning stove,leads onto a bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and wash basin with heated towel rail. There is an adjoining double bedroom which is ideal for anyone finding difficulty with stairs, or who wishes to have a cot along-side;it overlooks the forest and garden area. The upstairs is approached by an open staircase leading onto a landing, from which there is another full bathroom,( as downstairs), and two further double bedrooms, one with adjoining dressing room. The fourth bedroom houses a set of bunk beds with a single top bed, and double bottom bed. Velux windows and blinds to all bedrooms. The houses are very well insulated having new oil fired central heating systems, making them an ideal centre for all seasons, and, in particular, for fishermen, walkers, painters, writers house-hunters or golfers and their families wishing to avail themselves of the many nearby lakes,rivers and golf courses. There is ample parking, as well as a full size table tennis table, bikes, junior snooker table and, of course, the heated swimming pool ( 8m. x 4m.) with surrounding patio area and lawned surround. The pool is heated to 28-30 degrees. The whole is situated in a two acre grassed site....a wonderful area for children to let off steam. It also gives assured privacy and a superb view. The 'Parc du Roi Morvan' is 100 yards from the property;it is an area of natural beauty, and boasts five small lakes - two reserved for fishing, which make for some fabulous lake-side walks. Only 200 metres from the end of our drive is a very, very rural shop supplying essentials only, but is also a bar...typically Breton, and reminiscent of 1955! Also, an oasis of a delicatessen and epicerie where you can find a range of home made meals, cakes and puddings. Delivery service. Lanvenegan - our nearest village - is a mere two minutes drive, and you will find a bar ( with pizzeria/restaurant), boulangerie, mini-market and post office, as well as a delightful old church here. Ten minutes drive will bring you to the local town of Le Faouet, with it's 16th century open market hall;the square is lined by a range oF restaurants and creperies, shops, supermarket and a pharmacy.You will find here the beautiful chapels of St. Barbe and St. Fiacre - not to be missed. At nearby Langonnet you will find an African museum in the Abbey,also very beautiful, and a 15 minute drive. There are a selection of golf courses, the nearest at Ploemeur Ocean ( a coastal course,not for beginners )or try Queven, 35 minutes away, a stone's throw from Pont Scorff zoo - a favourite with our visitors. At Carhaix, 20 minutes, a 6 hole course. As is Oceanopolis at Brest..... 1 hr drive. Horse Riding within 1/2 hour. The beaches nearby range from long and sandy, with accompanying water sports, including surfing, and instruction, to small secluded sandy coves. All delightful, not crowded, with parking nearby. The cities of Quimper, Lorient and Vannes are all within 1 hours drive,for architecture, eating out, markets as well as karting, cinemas and theatres. (Loads of little designer shops too!) Brittany is truly beautiful.There is something for everyone. The cuisine is superb and there is a huge range of wines and beers to choose from. Creperies and pizzerias abound as well as traditional french restaurants , speciality fish rstaurants, of course.The Bretons have fetes for no reason at all, and markets for every day of the week. They will also give you the warmest of welcomes. And so will we.!! |

Ferry to St. Malo from POrtsmouth(2 hours from Le Faouet) or Roscoff from PLymouth(1 1/4 hours). Cherbourg and Caen similar times. Try LD Lines Newhaven to Le Havre....4 1/2 hrs drive, but good bargain price travelling. Look for Flybe and Ryanair flights and deals from Luton, Stansted, Birmingham and East Midlands. Ferries from Roscoff, Portsmouth, Newhaven (LD Lines....good value) and Dover. Fly to Dinard; car hire available.Good value flights Fly Newcastle/Leeds to Exeter; Exeter to Brest.
